About Surge 🌸
Surge is female-led startup focused on educating and securing women’s place in Web3.
Since our inception, we have grown our Discord community, Twitter, and Instagram to 4000+ members. We’ve also launched a newsletter, a jobs board, an ambassador program, hosted virtual events, and have published educational content in both English and Spanish. In parallel, we’re getting ready to release the “Surge Passport” NFT with partners from top Web3 organizations in the coming months.
As we scale at this unprecedented rate and continue to onboard more women into the Web3 space, we’re looking for a Community Queen to join our team and work closely with our founders and leads.
This role will be responsible for growing and engaging our community, while still maintaining a close relationship with individual participants. You will be given autonomy to strategize and implement creative community building techniques in order to foster a thriving online community. The Community Queen is crucial to the growth of our organization, and you will gain first-hand insight into the day-to-day operations of a rapidly scaling Web3 startup. It will also be an opportunity to bring in your own ideas and make valuable connections along the way.

About you 👸🏽
- Want to be hands-on in the development of Surge and grow with us.
- Passionate about helping to close the gender gap in Web3.
- Have proven experience in community management roles.
- Vibrant and energetic personality.
- Understand Web3 basics (blockchain technology, NFTs, dApps, DAOs) and are familiar with Web3 terms & trends.
- Comfortable leading and moderating virtual events & conferences.
- Real people person who loves to build and foster meaningful relationships in- and outside our community.
- Highly collaborative and high receptiveness to feedback.
- Enjoy working remote.
- Able to work ET/PST times.
Your skills 🛠
- Excellent communication and relationship management skill.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Very comfortable using Discord (incl. setting up bots & integrations), Notion and Google Workspace.
- Methodical prioritization and problem-solving skills.
- Native English fluency.
- Exceptional written communication skills.

- Previous experience working for Web3 startups.
- Previous experience organizing virtual events.
- Can present community growth numbers from previous roles.
- Hands on experience with social media management.
The Role 🏋🏻♀️
- Work independently across teams to grow a community of Surgers.
- Be an active Discord moderator and engage with the community.
- Stay on top of everything that is happening in the community.
- Set, plan and implement social media and communication campaigns and strategies.
- Organize and manage events to boost brand awareness.
- Provide engaging text, image and video content for social media.
- Identify, surface and direct talent and potential partners to our leads and founders.
- Manage, lead & develop our Ambassador program.
- Organize and execute virtual events (discord hangouts, twitter spaces etc), update all calendars & create hype around them.
- Lead community calls & orchestrate regular internal updates.
- Strategize & research community building best practices in the Web3 space.
- Onboard talent and companies onto Surge Job Board.
- Support recruitment process as needed.
- Take autonomy and pitch creative ideas to the core team!
